I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving day the other day. As I take time to relax a little bit, it’s time to pay attention to some new perspectives and directions. How fitting is today’s card for that task? The card:
King of Swords
The Connecting With A Spirit Guide Tarot Spread
Today, I wanted to do a spread that helped me focus on the recent change I’ve been going through. It’s been kind of tough, and I still don’t entirely know how to move forward. The thing is though, I am moving forward. It’s a bit of a paradox, I admit. For me, today is just a relaxed, how does the ground feel beneath my feet moment. Picking a tarot spread then, I decided to go with something a little out of my comfort zone. I don’t believe in Guardian Angels or spirits, so that’s what I’m doing a spread on!
1. Who Are You, What’s Your Personality? – 2 of Pentacles
At first, I didn’t quite know what to make of the 2 of Pentacles as a personality card. With a little digging through the book Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom though, I think I have a better idea. This card hints at a person, or in this case, being, who enjoys juggling multiple aspects of life. There is not just one project, but so many more. Likewise, this card can be linked to The Magician and Strength. With those three traits in unison, I understand a little bit better about this outlook. It is one that enjoys life for all it has to offer, though in an organized way.
2. How Can You Help Me On My Spiritual Path? – 7 of Cups
This card is a bit of an irony given my situation right now. The 7 of Cups is about our daydreams, but as unrealistic delusions. In the position it’s in, this card seems to be saying a guide can help in determining what is delusion and what is worth investing in. There are a lot of Pentacles in this spread, and I see them as a form of manifestation. To me, the meaning is clear. A guide can offer a sense of foundation to what would otherwise remain daydreams. But, there’s also a slight hint at that sense of balance. Some delusions will have to give way to clarity.
3. How Can I Honor And Respect Your Presence? – The Devil
I’m actually not that surprised to see the card show up in this spot. The Devil is a card that does have a positive side, though I think many people would prefer not to see it. To me, The Devil represents the material as well as passionate creativity. In this case, The Devil demands materialism. This guide, for whatever reason, requires me to see the material world and not be tempted beyond it. For a moment at least, this offers a sense of freedom. Though, this view is ultimately limited and abandoned. As a moment in time though, The Devil does help to manifest the material.
4. What Are Your Spiritual Strengths? – Page of Pentacles
Personally, I love the idea of having a Page of Pentacles as a muse of some sort. The Page of Pentacles is in love with a task or some monetary pursuit. There’s a sense of newness, of having never before seen this particular task completed. Perhaps it is like creating a new painting and seeing that blank canvas. For me, the blank canvas is always a tough thing. I love the project, the final result, but I don’t like starting over. If I could approach a new task with wonder and enjoyment, that would be wonderful. I’d like to make this a strength of mine, as I’d create more.
5. Outcome Of Our Relationship? – Knight of Pentacles
And this card is probably what happens when someone like me wants to embody the traits of the Page of Pentacles. The Knight of Pentacles is a great card, as it alludes to pursuing the material. As I reflect on that, I do pursue tasks to enjoy them. I actually enjoy working hard. But, the Knight of Pentacles also has an interesting trait in that the Knight has lost the deeper meaning within the earth element. This, I have to admit, is where I often see myself heading. I can focus. I enjoy the simplicity of working hard. But, I don’t often realize or recognize other aspects to this.
What do you think? Do we have spirit guides? Are there lessons we have to learn from multiple guides throughout our lifetime? Is this spread something you want to see more of on the blog? Did you try the spread yourself? Let me know! I always like to hear how you view the content so far.
