Today is turning out to be an odd kind of day. It amazes me how little steps sometimes bring the most progress. When that happens, everything just seems to align perfectly. We tend to forget what went wrong and focus on the positive. So, with that in mind, here is today’s card of the day:
Three of Pentacles
A Chakra Inspired Tarot Spread
Since things just seem to be lining up really well lately, I wanted to go ahead and do an overall chakra spread. I know, your chakras are technically always aligned, but still. There’s a sense of balance, and so, it seems appropriate. It can’t hurt at least, right? Also, I said at some point I’d get around to doing all seven of those individual chakra spreads. This isn’t any of those, and in fact, it was created by someone else, but I wanted to do an overall one first. Anyway, on to the spread and its layout!
1. The Crown: I Know – Queen of Cups
I have to admit, this is my favorite card placement in this spread. The Queen of Cups represents, to a certain extent, the embodiment of feminine spirituality. For me, this is something that makes sense in the spot of the crown chakra. This is essentially our connection to spirituality. To me, the Queen of Cups represents that there is no blockage here. I’m perfectly aligned with my spirituality, and it is quite healthy. Likewise, I don’t see a hint of overabundance.
2. The Third Eye: I See – 4 of Wands
A sense of freedom embodies the 4 of Wands. This is appropriate in its spot as well. The third eye is often associated with a sixth sense, but that’s not quite correct. At its core, the third eye represents intuition. Psychic abilities are often seen as a heightened intuition, hence the association. But, for me at least, the 4 of Wands hints at a solid foundation. There’s also a feeling like there’s room for growth here. The 4 of Wand is openness and freedom, but not say, Victory like the 6 of Wands.
3. The Throat: I Speak – Page of Swords
Somehow, I view this card in this spot with a sense of humor. I’m a Taurus, so this spot in the layout is important. However, I didn’t get a card I would expect, like say, an Ace of Pentacles or Cups. No, I get the Page of Swords. This symbolizes a more logical but a bit too analytical approach to my statements. I often find myself discussing things about life, but from an observation standpoint. Although, the Page might hint at a balance, emotional inclination smoothed by a bit of aloofness. But, I might need to improve here.
4. The Heart: I Love – 6 of Swords
Yes, this card is correct. Is that hard to admit? Yup. The 6 of Swords represents a mourning of sorts, in my case, a spiritual one. There’s a pain that lingers, but it is easier to deal with now. What’s interesting to me is that this spread touches on that at all. My love life is fine, and is linked more to the Queen of Cups. The heart chakra can represent joy and inner peace however, which this 6 of Swords does play a part in. I’m a little bit fascinated though that I got a card to represent that clearly.
5. The Solar Plexus: I Can – 2 of Swords
The 2 of Swords in this particular spot hints at an imbalance. This is probably an emotional one. There’s the outright symbolism of this in the 2 of Swords card, but the solar plexus is a representation of our confidence and self-esteem. In the 2 of Swords, the proper place of gravity is the solar plexus, but the person’s action make it the chest or throat. To me, this hints that I’m not quite over that 6 of Swords issue. My self-confidence and self-esteem are not what they should be. It’s not a lost cause, but needs work.
6. The Sacral: I Feel – Judgment
To me, this is perhaps an odd card for others to understand in this particular spot. The sacral chakra represents our sexuality and sense of pleasure. Mine is actually fine, believe it or not. Judgement is an odd card, I admit, but it hints at the core way I approach sexuality. For me, sexual pleasure is a spiritual gateway. I link spirituality and sex quite easily. So, in fact, I understand this placement entirely. Also, this is perhaps a part of my ‘true’ nature or just plain inclinations. It’s perfectly okay.
7. The Root: I Have – 3 of Pentacles
How awesome is it that the card of the day showed up in the spread? I love when that happens. In this case, I understand the meaning perfectly too. The 3 of Pentacles is all about diligence in work. When the card is in this spot, it shows a sense of calm. If I embrace a task, or a pursuit, everything finds its own foundation. I’m calm, I’m focused, although it only lasts as long as the work does. But, it’s a pretty solid foundation and an enjoyable one too. This is a balanced chakra as well.
To conclude, I want to do something a little different. I decided to draw a few cards to highlight what may be causing the 2 of Swords scenario in my solar plexus chakra. What’s the catch? Well, I’m not going to share the meanings until tomorrow. The spread is available if you want to find it yourself… but that’s cheating too. Ah well, here are the cards for tomorrow!
